Uncertainty over the future of the Red Arrows has been ended by the news that the daredevil aerial display team will have its Hawk T1 jets replaced.
Red Arrows to avoid stunts at Farnborough airshow after disaster
Mar 05, 2019 Hawker Hunter F.6 ' Red Arrows' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Hawker Hunter F.6 to give my interpretation as to how it might have looked if the famous Red Arrows display team had flown it in the 1960's. I've kept it simple by using a Gnat-esque scheme but I've used white serial numbers instead of blue. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Note: The RAF Red Arrows (XX322; cn165/312147) in their diamond-9 formation, during their opening display at Southport Airshow 2014. The Red Arrows wear their special anniversary paint scheme for the team's 50th display year. Two Red Arrows BAE Hawk T1 Aircraft, serial numbers XX245 and XX220 in black livery at Guernsey Airport. They were in Guernsey as part of the Battle of Britain static aircraft display in September.
The defence secretary, Michael Fallon, said the internationally famous unit would continue for years to come. Fallon said: “The Red Arrows are going to be here to stay for a while yet. They are a key part of our defence engagement, as we call it, around the rest of the world, and I don’t think the public would let us lose the Red Arrows.”

He made the announcement on Tuesday as the aerobatic team performed in a public display in China for the first time as part of a 60-day world tour aiming to promote “the best of British”. The display, on the opening day of Airshow China in Zhuhai, takes the number of countries the team has performed in since 1965 to 57.
The Red Arrows fly BAE Systems Hawk T1 jets, from RAF Scampton, in Lincolnshire, where they have been based since 2001. Their planes can reach a top speed of just over 600mph and the team can fly as low as 30 metres (100ft) from the ground.
Hi,Bit of a long shot but can anyone please help with a date, serials numbers of the Red Arrow Gnat's and their Argosy support aircraft that arrived at RAF Wittering to perform a display in 1966-67 or thereabouts. The team arrived late in the afternoon and I think they did night stop before their display. As kids of service personnel based at the station we were allowed across the airfield to view the Red Arrows and support aircraft up close. If I recall they were parked on the far north side pan just up from the Victor QRA dispersal. I think at the time the team had just recently increased to a nine aircraft establishment.
Many thanks
